Possibly Zorl-Stissa originally created his race based on the True Dragons/Dragon Knights. But Divinity 2 reveals that "True Dragons" (as opposed to Dragon Knights, who are mortals who turn into Dragons), are god-like extraplanar beings whose mere names alter creation itself. But much of the game hinges on the Lizardfolk, like all races, having been created by the gods. Red Prince's quest is all about how the Lizardfolk used to be dragons. The Void Dragon wasn't a Voidwoken, but simply a very powerful Void creature, native to that dimension. The Voidwoken are the Eternals the Seven banished to the Void, who formed a pact with creatures of the Void in exchange for the power to retake Rivellon. That's why liberating the Source from the sourcerers is necessary to restore the veil / barrier between Rivellon and the Void. To be precise, Source already existed in smaller quantities on Rivellon, but the Seven came about after Fane discovered a veil a pure Source separating the world from the Void, which the Seven consumed to become god-like beings. Source isn't made from the hole in the veil, Source was the veil.

As for the Trife and the Void Dragon, it's likely they were some of the first and most powerful Voidwoken, with the Trife likely being a Voidwoken demon and the Void Dragon being a Voidwoken, well, dragon.

After several thousand years of misinformation and obfuscation, it's possible that the information that the Void wasn't always connected to the Source simply no longer exists. If that means throwing Astarte under the bus and lying about the Source's role in things, so be it. The Seven obviously wouldn't want to let anybody know about the fact they almost destroyed the universe twice, especially since their mess was cleaned up by mortals both times, so they're going to do all they can to suppress their own involvement with it. Since they didn't tell Astarte (who was not one of the Seven and thus didn't know about it) what happened, the Trife was able to trick her into letting it loose again, corrupting the Source. If the Seven are indeed responsible for the Tear then it's their fault, not Astarte's, that the Void Dragon got into Rivellon and had to be sealed away the first time. The first game states that the Source was there from the beginning and may even predate the Seven.

I am confused as how the new revelations about Source, The Void and the God King fit in relation to the stuff in the first Original Sin.I'm outside the deathfog room door now (yet again) as an undead elf with 16 strength, 1 point in Telekenisis and the key. Is it actually possible to pick up a deathfog barrel in the tutorial or is there just a massive global conspiracy of DOS 2 non-players to make me (personally) waste hours and hours in the tutorial when in actual fact it is impossible? Perhaps the jumping through walls is fake - idk. The game just stubbornly seems to work correctly.

I saw on YT someone doing a speedrun jumping through the wall by shuffling barrels but that doesn't work for me. I even tried reducing resolution in case (and this is improbable) I could then run faster. I've tried haste, putting all points into strength and telekenisis but whenever I unlock the door they are destroyed before I can pick up one let alone 3. I have tried hundreds (well dozens) of times with no luck - the script just destroys them before I come close. I want to pick up deathfog barrels at the start but I simply can't.
